I haven't decided whether you'd really like to see that or not.

[ She still can't figure out what kind of person he is. After all, he's kind of.. weird. She really can't tell if he's actually all yay-darkness or if he just thinks the aesthetic is cool. ]

Maybe one day, it isn't as though there aren't plenty of people here who'd like to see it.

[ The way she says it, she doesn't just mean a friendly fight. There are plenty of people here who she's sure are just waiting for her to step out of line so they can start a real fight.

They might run into a problem at the next one though, since Emerald isn't... exactly the type to be full of compliments. She honestly thinks her first one should've opened like three or five gates, considering how rare a compliment from her is if your name isn't Cinder or Mercury. ]

[It may indeed be leaning towards the aesthetic... Gundam doesn't actually want to witness anything being killed.]

If it involves the slaughter of proud demon beasts, than I have no interest in witnessing such damnable acts. [He replies sternly.] Witnessing some manner of practice may suffice.

[And then he makes another turn, bringing them towards the next gate.]

Hmph... Another one of these accursed gates? How foolish.

[ Just people, but she'll explain further so he doesn't automatically assume people. ]

There are these things in my world called creatures of Grimm. They aren't animals and they don't have a soul, they're born of darkness and hatred and so on and go after people who experience strong negative feelings, as if their day isn't already bad enough. They're kind of like if someone took a bird, painted it black, and replaced its need to sing with a will to peck out the eyeballs of someone who was already crying.

[ But speaking of animals. ] Are your... [ What was it? Oh, right. ] Dark Devas with you? [ She can compliment them, would that count? ]

[hamnation]

Then that would be one point in your favor. [He says in response to the part of the animals and then listens to the talk about Grimm. He's heard bits about Grimm before from the likes of Weiss, but not in this much detail.]

Hmph... They sound like kindred spirits to my own twisted self. [Their actual danger aside, this is definitely his aesthetic.] How interesting...

[And then, he grins.]

I would not enter the labyrinth of madness without my most loyal companions! [Some hamster heads start to poke out from his scarf, as if on cue!]

[ Let's just not mention that she was threatening to kill one around Kaede, but in her defense- she was gonna put it out of its misery and eat it?? Doesn't that count? But that's not normal either and she didn't actually kill it, so she's not counting it. ]

Somehow I don't think they have the same appreciation of "demon beasts" as you do. [ Gundam's a lot nicer than a Grimm, she's just saying. ]

Okay, we've got four more gates then. [ She's just going to move in and hold her hand out to see if one of the hamsters will come out of the scarf and onto her hand so she can properly compliment something that isn't hiding inside a boy's clothing. ]

[It's better that way! Gundam would have objected even more fiercely than Kaede.]

Four more gates...? Are you intending to wield the catastrophic power of the Dark Devas of Destruction against this maze?!

[One of the more normal-looking ones, San-D, scurries over and hops into her hand! He remembers her!]

[ She takes San-D, moving to face the gate (slowly and steadily so as to not disturb the hamster) and gives San-D two pats on the head with her index finger. ]

It'll never know what hit it with all this overpowering... uh, power. [ Look, she's not used to trying to speak Gundam's language, she's not going to ace it.

Emerald leans in to whisper to the hamster. Gundam may be surprised to notice that she remembers names really well-- people or hamsters. ]

San-D, I like your markings, you look like you got licked by fire and instead of getting burned just decided to roll with it.

[hamnation]

[It's a close enough approximation to his language! Gundam leans forward slightly, listening to the compliments she raises upon the hamster.]

Impressive. You have commended Supernova Silver Fox San-D's hellish nature in such a splendid manner! To think that you would have guessed his origins so easily... You must be more sufficient than I guessed! [Gundam's appreciation points go up! And whether due to the praise of the hamster, or the praise it inspired in Gundam, the gate quickly swings open!]

"Silver Fox"? Gundam, I don't think that means what you think it does.

[ That or she's just getting really confused about Gundam and his hamsters now. She almost looks hesitant to hand San-D back. ]

[hamnation]

[He doesn't know what she could possibly mean by that, so he responds with a confused growl.]

What? Do not doubt my senses! He bears the noble spirit of a true silver fox! That is all there is to it!

A "silver fox" is a term for an older guy with gray hair someone my age thinks is hot.

[ Just so they're clear. She just wants to make sure he knows. ]

[He levels a deadpan stare at for a few moments before-]

I reject your definition and erase it from existence!

That's not my definition, that's the general definition.

[ YOU CAN'T JUST ERASE WHAT SHE'S SAYING YOU FREAK?? ]

I do not care! I will wipe it from all of existence if I see fit! ...In any case, I uphold the title of Supernova Silver Fox with the true, superior definition!

[With a frustrated grunt, he trudges onward through the open gate!]

It's okay, San-D, I'm sure you make all the young hamster's hearts flutter no matter what he says.

[ She's just going to carry this hamster to the next stop if Gundam doesn't make her give it back... ]

Hmph... Of course he can ensnare the hearts of any other hamster. He is a being who is fully primed for breeding! But he is no elderly man...

[He'll let San-D keep her company for the time being. Enjoy the more pleasant companion!]

Aren't you supposed to neuter your pets?

[ Can you neuter hamsters? She feels like she didn't need to know about breeding anything, thanks. At least she seems like she's handling the hamster nicely. ]

Don't associate me with such sickening human practices. Mankind cannot properly control their familiars... but I can, and thus I oversee the breeding of incredible new generations of demon beasts.

So what your saying is your hobby is making your hamsters have a bunch of little fuzzy- fuzzless? I've never seen a baby hamster, just rats. Fuzzless demon spawns.

[ Look as long as he doesn't try to involve her in it, they aren't resource competition for her and he can do whatever he wants. She's just going to think he's weird about it, but she already thinks he's weird so that's not anything new. ]

[Yes, that's perfectly fine. Even his friends think he's weird, so that criticism dpoesn't accept him that much.]

It is much more than a hobby! It is a sacred art. Even the mortals of Hope's Peak Academy recognized it as a talent! And not just gods in the form of hamsters. I've worked with countless species of demon beasts over the years! Perhaps now you are starting to understand the true scope of my power.

[A flash of a memory might accidentally leak telepathically through the amulet in that moment, though, of Gundam smiling while cuddling some puppies.]

Okay, but they are fuzzless right? Also why are you showing me the puppies? I believe you already.

[ She's going to be legitimately concerned if she finds out that can accidentally happen. :( ]

Hmph... I did not choose to display any 'puppies' to you. You must have received a vision, that's all... And as a matter of fact, at first they are. [He bows his head in confirmation.]

Every class of hamster, no matter how large or how small, enters this world with skin as bare as their soul. As their powers grow, so does the fuzz of the gods...

I don't receive visions, so that's either from you or I need to go to the hospital once we get out of here.

[ She nods. Good to know. She was honestly just curious since she doesn't think she's ever seen baby hamsters... ] What got you into breeding animals? It seems out of the left field.

Or is is an effect of standing in the vicinity of my power. [He declares with authority. But then he scoffs as he goes on.]

Hmph... That's because you're a hundred years too early to truly understand anything about me and my ways. I was born with an affinity with all manner of mystical beasts, and I communed with them for practically my entire life.

These beings are worthy of living the greatest and most honorable lives that they can, and so I have deemed fit to help them accomplish this. My skill and my mission soon came to extend to preparing future generations to be as prosperous as possible...

It's okay if your overwhelming love of puppies couldn't contain itself, Gundam. I don't care.

[ It's hard to get mad at an animal for being overly happy when they don't even understand what's going on around them, where people just ignore the bad as long as it isn't their bad. So she's not half as annoyed as if he'd shown her him getting along with a person or something gross and obnoxious. ]

You take care of beings that can't survive on their own, or if they could it'd be a miserable life. I get it, even if you're a freak about it. [ Gundam actually uh. Might've gotten some points with her there. Ew, what. ]
